Bruting operator

Bruting operator deals with the rough polished or laser sawn diamond. There are different bruting machines available in the market and among them the following are most often used:

  1. EOS bruting machine
  2. Discron bruting machine

This task is performed because of following reasons:

  • Create roundness
  • Girdle percentage
  • Remove or reduce naturals in girdle region




Responsibilities:

  • Check every parcel have diamond when receiving parcels from stock controller
  • Check weight of diamond in weighing scale and confirm if it matches with the current weight mentioned in the parcel
  • Consumables, tools and equipment are available and in good condition
  • Machine checkups are mandatory everyday in the morning before production
  • Cover your machine when going for long holidays
  • Ensure your room is clean and tidy before knocking off for the day

Consumables, tools and equipment:

  • 0.5 Marker pen
  • Water
  • Black permanent marker
  • Pots (Male and female) in all sizes
  • 10X or more magnifier loupe
  • Apron or dust coat
  • Regular pen and book to note down any instruction from monitor or supervisor
  • Cloth for cleaning
  • Weighing scale
  • Allen keys
  • Hammer
  • Rench
  • Coolant for HRD bruting machine
  • Bruting machine

Machine checkups:

  • Check scaif quality for any cracks or holes on them
  • Check the screws of scaif are tightened
  • Check the movement of scaif from left to right and vice versa. Similarly from top to bottom
  • Check other buttons on the machine if they are working
  • Check for any machine vibration when the scaif is in full speed
